It was sold for $1 million in a New York auction on Tuesday.
The ring was worn by the late singer during his last public appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 1996.
Tupac’s godmother, Yaasmyn Fula, while providing the ring to the auction house, stated that the ring, which bears the Pac & Dada 1996 inscription on its side, was designed for him in New York City after his release from jail and his signing with Death Row Records.
The auction house said the ring, which is made of gold, rubies, and diamond crowns, became the most valuable hip-hop artefact ever sold, the New York Post reports.
Tupac was shot dead at age 25 on September 13, 1996, by an unidentified assailant in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
