1. Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter on a casualty evacuation mission on Monday crashed near Chukuba village in Niger State. Confirming the incident in a statement, NAF spokesman, Edward Gabkwet, explained that the aircraft had departed Zungeru Primary School enroute Kaduna but crashed near Chukuba Village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

3. The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Center, DIGC, Paul Enenche has declared that Nigeria and other countries in the continent cannot afford to engage in a war right now. In a video clip shared on his official Twitter handle on Monday, the fiery man of God, who was reacting to the coup in Niger Republic, said Nigerians are already having enough crises bedeviling them.
4. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a secessionist group agitating for the Biafra Republic from Nigeria has said it will not disband its militant arm, Eastern Security Network (ESN). The group stated this in a press release by its spokesperson, Mr Emma Powerful, which was made available to journalists on Monday.
5. No fewer than seven persons have been recorded to have been abducted in Bungudu town, headquarters of Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State as armed bandits invaded the town. DAILY POST gathered that the terrorists arrived at the town located about 20 Kilometers away from Gusau, the State capital with heavily armed weapons and abducted seven persons including 2 males and 5 females, and also killed one person.
6. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.- Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja on Monday assured that the Army and other security agencies would not fail in addressing the current security challenges in the country. Lagbaja gave the assurance on Monday when he inaugurated the newly constructed Headquarters of 8 Division Nigerian Army Sokoto.
7. The National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN) has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene and do everything possible to prevent petrol price from going up further and out of hand. Mr Adeolu Ogunbanjo, National Deputy President of NAPTAN, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the appeal was coming following an emergency meeting of the association on Monday in Lagos.
8. Katsina Elders forum has called on ECOWAS and the AU to negotiate with the military leaders in Niger Republic in order to peacefully return the country to its democratic government. An elder statesman, and the Acting Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Aliyu Saulawa, made the call through their Secretary, Alhaji Ali Muhammad, during a press briefing on Monday in Katsina.
9. The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday, hosted members of the Nigerian female football team, the Super Falcons, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The Super Falcons crashed out of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup, being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, having lost through penalties to the English team last Monday, August 7.
10. Law students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) have called out Cyril Ndifon, the dean of the faculty of law, over alleged sexual harassment.
