The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections Peter Obi was amongst the list of top dignitaries who stormed the wedding ceremony of Lloyd Ekweremadu, first son of the former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu.
CityNews Nigeria earlier reported that Lloyd, also known as Ike Ekweremadu Jnr, and Tiffany tied the knot at the Basilica of Grace Anglican Church, Gudu, Abuja.
Peter Obi, who came in late for the church wedding, got a round of applause when introduced.
Guests gathered for the reception at AIB Event Centre, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Dignitaries present are former Senate Presidents Anyim Pius, Bukola Saraki and David Mark; Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, PDP governorship candidate in Kogi, Dino Melaye; Senators Dave Umahi, Obinna Ogba, Rafiu Ibrahim, Isa Misau, Philips Aduda, Uche Ekwunife, and Bidoun Olujimi among others.
The groom is serving as a commissioner in the cabinet of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State. The bride’s parents are Mr and Mrs Obinna Uzor from Ebonyi.
Ekweremadu and wife Beatrice are not at the wedding ceremony as they are serving jail terms in the United Kingdom. They were jailed in May for conspiring to traffic a market trader to the UK to harvest his kidney.
