Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has returned to the country after three months of medical leave in Germany.
Akeredolu began his medical leave in June, which was later extended indefinitely by the state House of Assembly. Akeredolu transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in line with constitutional provisions after he embarked on the medical leave.
The private jet boarded by the governor touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 3:20 pm, on Thursday, September 7, and was immediately flown to his Ibadan, Oyo state residence. Members of the state Executive Council and top party Chieftains have been directed to meet with him in his residence where he is expected to receive briefings for some weeks before resuming fully for work.
