Reps hold one-minute silence for Mohbad

The House of Representatives on Tuesday held a one-minute silence to honour the late Afrobeat singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.

The minute silence was observed following a motion of urgent public importance moved by Babajimi Benson, the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency.

Mr Benson informed the House that the House needs to be concerned about the death of the entertainer because of the circumstances surrounding his death.

He explained that the singer suffered bullying and harassment from his record label over a dispute on contract.

The lawmaker prayed the House to review the Copy Rights law to prevent the exploitation of artists by record labels.

The motion was carried by the House and the minute silence was observed to honour the late singer.
