As of now, you can purchase 1 dollar at ₦1,035 and sell it at ₦1,040, however, it’s important to keep in mind that the rate can shift (either upwards or downwards) within hours.

The local currency opened at N1040 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market today Tuesday, 17 October 2023, in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed at N1040 per $1 on Monday, 16 October 2023.
Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦960 per $1 today, CityNews Nigeria reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
CityNews Nigeria reports that in the black market, the players buy a dollar for N1035 and sell for N1040 on Tuesday, 17 October 2023.
