Supporters of Chelsea Football Club remembered the former owner of the club, Roman Abramovich on Tuesday.
It was the Russian oligarch and politician’s 57th birthday and supporters of the west London side took to social media to celebrate the man who breathed life into their team.
Abramovich bought Chelsea in June 2003 from the previous owner, Ken Bates, who later bought rivals Leeds United.
The Russian was disqualified as the director of Chelsea by the Premier League on 12 March, 2022 and the league management later announced a new ownership group led by Todd Boehly on May 7.
“Happiest Birthday to one of our own Chairman Roman,” A club supporter wrote on X.
“The best, the man, the risk taker, the business man. The Russian. Happy Birthday.”
“Shall Always be Missed.”
“Will forever be grateful.”
“I love the man. He was my Chelsea.”
“Words don’t do Roman any justice, he simply loved us and would do anything to win, happy birthday to the world’s best ever owner.”
