Nigerian-American actress, Ayo Edebiri was among the winners at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, U.S.A, on Sunday.
Edebiri snagged the gong for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy for her performance as Sydney Adamu in the series, ‘The Bear.’
She defeated saw-off competition from Selena Gomez, Rachel Brosnahan, Natasha Lyonne, Quinta Brunson, and Elle Fanning to clinch the award.
‘The Bear’ also won the Best Television Comedy Series award.
However, ‘Oppenheimer’ was the biggest winner of the night, picking up five awards, including Best Motion Picture (drama) and Best Director for Christopher Nolan.
Surprisingly, ‘Barbie’ which had the most nominations snagged only two awards.
