The British Council in Nigeria has increased the fees for taking the English Language Testing System, IELTS examination for the second time in five months.
The council disclosed this in a recent statement on its official website.
It stated that the newly increased fees of N139,000 for both computer academic and general training modules will take effect from February 1, 2024.
The council attributed this adjustment to the rising examination costs.
“We would like to inform you that our IELTS fees have been reviewed. The new price list of the IELTS range of tests offered by the British Council will be effective for registrations on or after February 1 2024,” it stated.
Recall that the latest increase comes just five months after the previous adjustment in September 2023, when the fee rose from a range of N80,000 to N90,000 to the current N107,500.
