The Eagles of Mali defeated Nigeria’s Super Eagles 2-0 in a friendly match in Marrakech, Morocco on Tuesday night.
A first half goal from El Bilal Toure and a late second half goal from Kamory Doumbia gave Mali the victory over Nigeria at the Grand Stade de Marrakech.
This latest defeat comes after the Super Eagles defeated Ghana 2-1 in a friendly tie last Friday.
The win over Nigeria means the Super Eagles’ eight straight unbeaten record against Mali has now been broken.
Before Tuesday’s match, the Super Eagles were unbeaten in eight straight fixtures (five wins and three draws) against the Malians.
Also, the last time Mali defeated the Super Eagles was in September 1975 in a friendly which ended 4-1.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles’ next match is against South Africa in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.
