The man, said to be a law enforcement officer, and his deceased wife, who worked in a chemist shop, had, in the process, sta.bbed each other with sharp objects.
A source said, “They locked themselves up inside their apartment with their younger child of about five years.
“The man confronted the deceased over allegations that she was cheating on him; a fight ensued, leading him to st*b his wife to death.
“At that moment, people had come to separate the fight only to find the door to their apartment locked.
“When they could not break the door open, some of the people around them removed some of the building ceiling to gain entry into their apartment.
“They met the deceased and her husband with injuries all over their bodies. The woman looked unconscious and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but she gave up the ghost before they got there.”
The source added that the man who is severely injured is currently receiving treatment at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident, said the children of the deceased reported the incident.
