In April, SaharaReporters reported how President Bola Tinubu’s administration approved N225 ($0.15) per kilowatt-hour tariff increment for Band A electricity consumers in the country.

This development generated backlash from civil society organisations and concerned Nigerians who described the action as insensitive to the economic hardship facing Nigerians.
