“My success isn’t measured by accolades” – Funke Akindele slams trolls as she speaks on survival
Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has slammed her trolls as she speaks on her survival in the movie industry.
Hours ago, Funke Akindele dropped a message on her Instagram story and X app speaking about how she’s not defined by any category she is being placed.
The mother of two boys spoke about being an underdog in the industry and how she keeps pushing the boundaries in the Nigerian cinema.
She further cheers her readers not to give up on their dreams because her success is not measured by accolades rather by the stories being told and the lives impacted.
“Being an underdog doesn’t define me, it fuels me. Despite all the challenges I face, I keep pushing boundaries in Nigerian cinema. My success isn’t measured by accolades but by the stories I tell and the lives I impact. Here’s to never giving up on your dreams, no matter the odds.”
Funke Akindele’s statement came days after her colleague and rival Toyin Abraham publicly called out their beef and also congratulated her success in the cinema.
Toyin Abraham penned an open letter to Funke Akindele over the rivalry which took a toll on them personally and in their careers.
She spoke about how fan wars caused their unnecessary feud and congratulated her for achieving the one billion landmark in the cinema.
Funke Akindele who reacted to the post wished Toyin Abraham all the best.
Also, Funke Akindele was embroiled in a mild scandal last month when late Jumoke Aderounmu’s brother dragged her online over the actress’ death.
Kemi Filani recalls that Funke took to her Instagram Live and narrated her side of the story clearing the air about what she knew about Jumoke Aderounmu’s situation. She spoke about how she lost her mother, marriage, and politics in the same year and is still trying to get her life back together.
