ERIK TEN HAG is set to remain as manager of Manchester United.
The club had been holding an end-of-season review into the Dutchman’s performance following their FA Cup triumph.
Ten Hag will now remain in the dugout at Old Trafford for a third season.
He is also set to hold talks over a contract extension, with his current deal expiring in 2025.
Ten Hag’s future had been the subject of continued speculation amid United’s underwhelming campaign.
The Red Devils suffered a group stage exit from the Champions League before finishing eighth in the Premier League.
However, the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City last month secured European football and earned Ten Hag a second trophy in England.
As a result, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford have opted to move forward with Ten Hag.
Their decision comes despite reports potential replacements had been contacted.
Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was sounded out for the role, along with links to Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino.
Kieran McKenna was also tipped as a possible candidate before signing a new deal at Ipswich.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank is another name to be linked to United in recent weeks.
Ten Hag is now free to prepare for the upcoming campaign, though, without concerns regarding his future.
