Santi Cazorla has decided to continue playing football for at least one more season.
Earlier this month, the 38-year-old revealed that he had spoken to Mikel Arteta about a potential return to Arsenal.
Cazorla is currently playing for Spanish second-tier side, Real Oviedo.
Last weekend, Oviedo fell agonising short as they lost 2-1 on aggregate to Espanyol in the promotion play-off final.
However, the Spanish midfielder has decided to continue with his boyhood club as he signed a one-year extension.
Cazorla is hoping to give the club one last gift and take them back to the Spanish first division.
