Olubadan: Governor Makinde announces date for Olakulehin’s coronation
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced the date for the coronation of the Olubadan-designate, Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin.
Makinde, in a statement signed by the commissioner for information, Dotun Oyelade, said that the Olubadan-designate would be given staff and instruments of office on July 12, 2024.
The statement was made available to CN on Friday in Ibadan, the state capital.
Our correspondent gathered that the announcement is coming after groups and individuals have raised their voices over the delay in the coronation of the Olubadan-designate.
Olakulehin had earlier been nominated and appointed by the kingmakers in April this year.
Many indigenes have expressed worry over the delay in the coronation of the Olubadan-designate.
But, Makinde, after much pressure, has finally announced that the new Olubadan would be coronated on July 12.
The governor, in the statement, advised the people of the state to be patient with the government.
