WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden’s campaign announced Friday that it will be executing a $50 million paid media blitz in July following Biden’s disastrous debate performance last week that left some supporters and donors calling for him to drop out of the 2024 race.
The ad, according to a press release, will target several “key events that draw in large and politically diverse audiences” such as the Republican National Convention and the 2024 Olympic Games. It comes after the Biden campaign already spent $50 million in ads in June.
Along with the ads, the Biden campaign will be investing $17 million to knock on over three million doors in July and August. Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, first lady Jill Biden and second gentleman Doug Emhoff will also be hitting up battleground states to convince voters Biden is the best for the job.
“This will be a close race, decided by battleground voters who require consistent time, outreach, and attention,” the campaign wrote in the press release.
“While Donald Trump is on the golf course, we are putting in the work to reach critical voters and frame this election as a choice between Joe Biden – a fighter for American families – and Donald Trump – a convicted criminal who is running a campaign of revenge and retribution focused only on himself,” it added.
