Ìsèse Day: Ogun Traditionalists Assure Abiodun Of Unwavering Support

Traditional worshippers in Ogun State have pledged their support for the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun after fixing August 20 for Ìsèse Day. They also promised to promote peaceful co-existence and religious harmony in the state.

The traditionalists made the pledge when they visited the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, at his office in Abeokuta, towards the preparation for the year 2024 Ìsèse festival.

Oba Ìsèse of Ogun State and Chairman, Ìsèse Kingdom Of Truth Association Of Nigeria, Oba Ifarotimi Adifagbola Balogun, assured the state government of their continuous collaboration and synergy in all related activities and to strive for a progressive alliance among the traditional adherents.

“Indeed, we are assuring the state government, especially the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun of our unwavering support, we also appreciate the governor for approving August 20 as IÌsèse day in the state.” Adifagbola Balogun said

He also thanked the leadership and membership of the state House of Assembly for passing the enabling law that made the Ìsèse Day recognition a reality. 

Hon. Fagbayi urged the traditionalists to be united to enable them to contribute to the development of the state, imploring the Ìsèse faithful to laud the governor for approving the Ìsèse Day holiday in the state, saying the gesture demonstrated Abiodun’s commitment to inclusivity.

The Commissioner charged the traditional worshippers on the need for them to be united so as to become a formidable force that would contribute immensely to the development of the state.

He further said, “This year’s Ìsèse Day commemoration must attract participants from all the geo-political zones in the state as well as a fair representation of all local governments. We have to show that traditional worshippers are all one.”

Prayers were later offered for the governor, the government, and the people of the State by the Oba Ìsèse of Ogun State, Oba Ifarotimi Adifagbola Balogun.
