Transfer: Arteta to offer Euro 2024 winner ‘contract of lifetime’ to join Arsenal
Arsenal are willing to offer Spain midfielder, Mikel Merino, the “contract of a lifetime” to join the club this summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Mikel Arteta is desperate to land his compatriot from Real Sociedad.
And the Gunners are ready to hand over a huge deal to convince him.
However, they are facing competition from Aston Villa and Barcelona.
Merino, 28, has only one year left on his current contract with Sociedad and has a £56m release clause.
He featured in every round of Euro 2024 for Spain and even scored a crucial extra-time winner against Germany in the quarter-finals.
