‘PSG Agrees Terms With Victor Osimhen But Yet To Settle With Napoli’

Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen has reportedly agreed to personal terms with French Ligue 1 giants, Paris Saint Germain.

This means that PSG are officially the frontrunners for the signature of Victor Osimhen as the French giants prepare for life without Kylian Mbappe who has joined Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

Osimhen has been making headlines in the transfer market since December 2023 after Napoli made it clear that the 25-year-old forward is available for sale even though they just extended his contract until June 30, 2026.

Initially, it was looking like Osimhen was heading to the Premier League as Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal were said to be pushing for his signature. The fact that the Nigerian striker said in an interview that his dream is to play in the Premier League made his links to English clubs more pronounced.

However, the English clubs couldn’t push hard enough for his signature due to the hefty €130 million release clause attached to his contract.

After failing to get a suitor willing to meet the hefty release clause, Napoli are open to negotiating a lower transfer fee for Victor Osimhen, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The reason why Napoli is said to be desperately in need of a buyer for Osimhen is because they are struggling to pay his €10 million per season salary agreed in December.

As things stand, PSG look like they will be favoured in the entire transfer saga, as multiple sources in France and Italy claimed that Osimhen has agreed on personal teams with PSG.

Hence, the French side are in negotiations with Napoli to agree on a transfer fee for the Nigeria international. Recently, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote that “PSG are advancing in talks with Victor Osimhen’s camp as their interest is now getting concrete.”

All things being equal, PSG are expected to announce Osimhen’s signing before the commencement of the 2024-2025 season in August.
