Kylian Mbappe was the highest-paid footballer in the French Ligue 1 before he decided not to renew his contract with PSG and moved to his dream club, Real Madrid this summer.
Reports claimed that the 25-year-old France international accepted a pay cut to complete his move to the Spanish La Liga giants. The pay cut makes him the third highest-paid footballer in La Liga.
However, Mbappe remains the highest-paid footballer in Real Madrid, and his contract entails that there will be a gradual increment in his salary.
Currently, FC Barcelona and Dutch forward, Frenkie De Jong is the highest-paid footballer in the league, above second-placed, Robert Lewandowski of Poland and FC Barcelona.
David Alaba of Real Madrid and Austria, and Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid and Slovenian goalkeeper complete the top five.
1. Frenkie De Jong (£31.6 million)
2. Robert Lewandowski (£28.2 million)
3. Kylian Mbappe (£26.3 million)
4. David Alaba (£19 million)
5. Jan Oblak (£17.5 million)
6. Vinicius Jr. (£17.5 million)
7. Jude Bellingham (£15.8 million)
8. IIkay Gundogan (£14 million)
9. Federico Valverde (£12.6 million)
10. Thibaut Courtois (£12.2 million)
