Victor Osimhen is determined to leave Napoli this summer even though he still has a contract with the Italian side until June 30, 2026.
In the last week, it was looking like Osimhen was on his way to PSG, who were determined to replace Kylian Mbappe who has moved to Real Madrid in June with the 25-year-old Nigeria international.
CityNews reported that Osimhen and PSG have agreed on personal terms and the agreed deal was expected to earn the reigning African player of the year €14 million per season.
With the player and club’s side settled, all that was left was for PSG to agree on a transfer fee with Napoli. Negotiations over that stalled when the Italian side insisted that they wanted PSG’s Kang-in Lee to be included in a cash-plus player swap deal.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Negotiations between PSG and Napoli for Osimhen, not advancing after recent talks.
“PSG rejected to include Kang-in Lee in the deal and will not trigger the release clause as Napoli wanted.
“Deal NOT happening under these conditions.
“PSG is also happy with Ramos & Kolo Muani.”
This means that Victor Osimhen could go into the new season with his future at the Italian side still unsettled, with his €130 million release clause being the major reason why he failed to secure a new club.
The transfer expert claimed that “Osimhen’s priority remains to leave Napoli this summer”, and might not mind leaving Europe for the Saudi Pro League.
Romano wrote on X earlier today: “Paris Saint-Germain won’t pay the clause and talks are on stand-by at current conditions, no chance to include Kang-in Lee.
“Osimhen could also consider Saudi League bids, as Napoli want Lukaku to replace him.”
