Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has said that his players are somewhat confused on the field of play and would not take the right decisions.
The Italian stated this in his reaction to Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat to Celtic in a pre-season game on Saturday.
It was a rather embarrassing performance for the west London side at the Notre Dame Stadium in the USA.
The Scottish side netted twice in the first half and put in two more goals in the second half to seal the deal.
The Blues managed to salvage some pride with a penalty converted by Christopher Nkunku.
Speaking to the press after the game, Maresca said, “As we said, the result is always important. For us, we need to analyze the game in general.
“And off the ball, for sure, we can improve things and you can see sometimes we confuse when we need to play short, a little bit longer. It’s part of the process.”
The former Leicester City boss will be hoping his team can improve their form heading into his debut season as Chelsea manager.
