Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said poor pitch was responsible for Chelsea’s 4-2 loss to his team.
Guardiola also said he “likes” what Blues boss, Enzo Maresca is trying to achieve.
City beat Chelsea 4-2 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday evening, with Erling Haaland scoring a hat-trick.
Haaland’s first two goals saw him capitalize on Chelsea’s poor passes out from the back.
Maresca’s men eventually pulled two goals back through Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke, but fans will still be concerned over another defeat this summer.
But Guardiola said: “It happened due to the pitch conditions.
“At Stamford Bridge, this would not happen.
“Let me say this, I see what Enzo wants to do and I like it. And I don’t just say that because he’s my friend.”
