The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has inaugurated an 18-member caretaker committee ahead of the November 16 governorship election.
The committee, the party said will run the PDP affairs in the state throughout the period of campaign and election.
Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary in a statement on Monday, August 12, said the caretaker committee was constituted according to Section 29 (2) (b) of the party’s Constitution.
Ologunagba also said that a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Bakita Bello, has been appointed to chair the committee.
While inaugurating the committee, Kamaru Ajisafe, the South-West National Vice Chairman of the PDP, urged members to ensure that the party secured a huge victory at the November governorship election.
He said, “We painstakingly look at all the members of the newly inaugurated caretaker committee, and they are going to deliver.”
