‘We need a striker’ – Mikel begs Chelsea to sign Osimhen

John Mikel Obi has urged Chelsea to go all out and sign Victor Osimhen this summer, DAILY POST reports.

Osimhen has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer with the Blues reportedly interested in signing him on loan with a buy option.

The forward’s high salary and Napoli’s objection to the buy option has proven to be a stumble block.

Mikel has however challenged his former club to get the deal done.

“I keep saying we need Victor Osimhen. Go and get Victor Osimhen. Please get that deal done because we need an out-and-out striker.

“He is a player that is going to get us goals,” Mikel said on the Obi One Podcast.

“Yes, I have said it, technically maybe not the best, goalscoring, he will get us goals and that is what we need. We need a striker who will stay around the box like Haaland.”
