Victor Osimhen will have to sign a new contract with Napoli, before leaving on loan to Galatasaray, according to Football Italia.
The Nigerian striker is on the verge of joining the Turkish side on a dry loan. This means there is no option or obligation to buy.
However, Galatasaray will cover his €11m annual salary.
But Napoli want some guarantees that their investment is safe. The contract that Osimhen signed with the Serie A side in December 2023 only runs to June 2026.
If he leaves on loan now and returns in June 2025, there would be only one year left on the contract, giving Napoli a very weak negotiating position for a sale.
So before Osimhen is allowed to fly out for a medical, he must first sign an extension with Napoli to June 2027 at the same terms.
