Chris Uba eyes Anambra South senatorial seat after Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s death
Chris Uba, a once-formidable figure in Anambra State politics, is reportedly positioning himself for a potential political comeback as the senatorial seat for Anambra South becomes vacant following the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
Uba, the younger brother of former presidential aide and senator, Andy Uba, was once a key player in the state during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
At the peak of his political career, Uba was regarded as the kingmaker in Anambra State, known for his ability to make or break political careers.
His power base, however, began to crumble after his infamous fallout with former Governor Chris Ngige, and the subsequent rise of Ifeanyi Ubah, who ended his dominance in the state’s political sphere.
Sources told The Will Uba is likely to contest in the upcoming by-election for the Anambra South senatorial seat, a race expected to be announced soon by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
If successful, the seat could offer Uba a second chance to restore his political empire and influence in the state.
