The rumors started after Tems attended Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show last December. She wore a black dress paired with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels, and the way the outfit fit her sparked speculation that she was expecting.
Speaking on an episode of ‘The Breakfast Club’, the Nigerian singer was asked about the wildest rumor she had heard about herself, to which she replied, “Probably the pregnant thing.”
The “Me n U” cronner responded to the rumors with humor and confusion, as she questioned why Future, in particular, was linked to the rumor and wondered why other artists like Wizkid or Drake weren’t mentioned instead.
Tems said, “The wildest thing I’ve heard about myself is probably the pregnancy, I don’t know where it came from; I have no clue. I was just minding my business being homeless, but it was all so crazy, and I think it’s because of people recognising me.
“People just take the most controversial things. Because I was thinking like, why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest.
“Why not Wizkid? Why not Drake? Why not somebody else? If it was Drake, it would be the same thing but the reason why it is Future is because of his reputation.”
Tems went on to explain that Future’s reputation as a ladies’ man, with multiple children, likely fueled the rumor.
In the interview, Tems also shared some of her musical influences, citing top rap artists like Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J. Cole as her inspirations.
