Enzo Zidane, who is the eldest son of Zinedine Zidane’s four sons, decided to retire from professional football to focus on personal matters, including his family and investments.
Enzo’s retirement has been confirmed by sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, and it marks the end of his decade-long career, during which he made 203 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 24 assists.
Unlike his dad who played football to the highest level including winning the FIFA World Cup for France and winning everything in club football at Real Madrid and Juventus, Enzo played for mostly mediocre clubs.
Enzo’s football journey which started at Real Madrid Castilla, took him to Alavés, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves, Almeria, and Rodez Aveyron. He ended the journey at Fuenlabrada, where he made 29 appearances.
His most memorable moment was scoring on his debut for Real Madrid’s senior team in a 6-1 Copa del Rey victory over Cultural Leonesa.
While Enzo has decided to retire, his brothers remain actively involved in the sport. Luca Zidane is currently Eibar’s starting goalkeeper, Theo Zidane plays midfield for Córdoba in the third tier, and the youngest, Elyaz Zidane, has recently joined the Real Betis academy and represents France at the Under-17 level.
