EPL: Sir Alex Ferguson tells Man Utd who to replace Ten Hag with

Legendary Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, has personally endorsed Massimiliano Allegri as his ideal candidate to take over the club if Erik ten Hag is relieved of his duties.

Ten Hag is under serious pressure at Old Trafford following a dreadful start to the new season.

The Dutchman was allowed to continue in the role despite finishing in eighth place last term, although he won the FA Cup.

This decision was reached after United’s hierarchy spoke with several managers at the start of the summer, including Graham Potter, Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel.

But the 3-0 humiliation in the hands of Tottenham last Sunday has only amplified calls for Ten Hag to be sacked.

Some reports even indicate the 54-year-old has two matches to save his job.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, United are eyeing Simone Inzaghi as a potential “stop-gap solution”.

However, it’s claimed Ferguson has recommended Allegri as his preferred replacement for Ten Hag at the Theatre of Dreams.
