AFCON 2025 qualifier: Eguavoen backs Boniface to end Super Eagles goal drought
Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen is rooting for Victor Boniface to open his goal account for the team against Libya on Friday (today).
Boniface has failed to register a goal in eight appearances for the three-time African champions.
The Bayer Leverkusen star is expected to lead the line against the Mediterranean Knights in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.
Eguavoen is optimistic the talented forward will score his first goal on the international scene against the North Africans.
“Victor Boniface has always been a part of this team and will continue to be a part of this team,” Eguavoen told reporters in Uyo.
“Yes, he is not finding the back of the net and I can assure you that if he starts tomorrow, he will score.”
