‘Fayose’s Group Led By Wike Embarrassing PDP’ – Dele Momodu
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has opined that a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, alongside the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, are embarrassing the opposition party.
Momodu made this known during an interview on Channels TV while speaking on the ongoing crisis in the party.
CityNews reported that Fayose described the crisis rocking PDP as embarrassing.
He said the suspension and counter-suspension by various factions of the PDP at the level of national leadership has brought the party to a new low.
Fayose said only God’s intervention through a miracle can put the party together again.
Reacting, Momodu asserted that Fayose’s group led by Wike was causing embarrassment to the party.
He stated that it was shameful for Wike to work for the ruling party, especially when he was supposed to work as an opposition.
Momodu said, “He (Ayo Fayose) is right that it is embarrassing, but who are the people causing the embarrassment? They are members of his group led by the minister of FCT, former governor, Nyesom Wike; so if they say it is embarrassing they know what to do. I have never seen a situation where a member of the opposition will openly, shamelessly, voluntarily work for the ruling party. We are supposed to be in the opposition, I just heard you saying that Umar Damagun, the acting chairman was suspended. A faction suspended him and he too suspended the faction saying that he will use the police force on them. When did PDP become a military wing in Nigeria when you will apply force on a member of your party and what gives you the power to unleash security forces? It is very unfortunate for our party.”
