“Some men think I’m misleading their wives, but I’m not advocating for divorce or separation cos I love family” – May Edochie corrects misconception
May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has corrected some misconceptions about her personal life.
The mother of four, who lost her first son last year, in an interview with comedian Ayo Makun, made it known that she isn’t advocating for divorce or separation. May noted how some men think she is misleading their wife following her crashed marriage to Yul, but that’s untrue as she is a big advocate of marriage.
May stated that she loves family and marriage and she sees it as the basis for family. She noted how, without family, she, as well as many others, wouldn’t be alive.
“Some men see it like I am misleading their wives. You know why because I love family, I love marriage, and I see it as the basis for family. Without family, there would be no you or me. I am not in any way advocating divorce or separation; let me categorically state here that I am not an advocate of divorce”.
While speaking on how she handles her personal matters, she said she isn’t one to bring her issues to social media, and luckily for her, she has a good support system in her family, friends, and online families.
“Having a positive mindset is key for me. I embrace authenticity, I do not take my personal issues to social media. I have this big support system: my family and friends; they are always there for me when I need them, and then my online family members. They are like a pillar; they are reliable and dependable, and they’re ready to give it back to anyone who displays their insincerity. If you choose to display your insensitivity and when it gets over the board, they come for you”.
Recall that Yul married his colleague, Judy, which led to his crashed marriage with May Edochie. Following his second marriage, May filed for divorce from him, and had also filed a restraining order denying him access to their former marital home and gotten full custody of the kids.
