This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled ‘President Tinubu Honours Invitation for a State Visit to France.’
According to the statement, the visit aims to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between Nigeria and France. It will focus on fostering partnerships in key sectors such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, employment, innovation, and energy transition. Onanuga highlighted that the visit promises significant benefits for Nigeria.
On Thursday, Tinubu and his wife, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, will be received by President Macron and his wife, Brigitte, at the historic Les Invalides military museum and the Palais de l’Élysée. The welcoming ceremonies will be followed by bilateral meetings between the two leaders.
During the visit, Tinubu and Macron will discuss ways to boost youth-focused exchange programs, emphasizing skills development in areas like automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. They will also hold political and diplomatic talks centered on finance, solid minerals, trade and investment, and communication.
Additionally, both leaders will attend a session of the France-Nigeria Business Council, which facilitates private-sector contributions to economic growth. Meanwhile, Brigitte Macron and Mrs. Tinubu will discuss initiatives to empower women, children, and vulnerable groups, aligning with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative.
The visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by President Macron in honor of Tinubu and his delegation. The Presidency confirmed that top government officials will accompany the Nigerian leader on the trip.
