Falz reveals his secret double life…fascinating chapter in his life
Falz has opened up about a fascinating chapter in his life, where he juggled two vastly different careers.
In an episode of UK podcaster Madam Joyce’s show, Falz shared his experiences of living a double life as a lawyer by day and a rapper by night.
The 34-year-old artist recalled the challenges of balancing his two passions, revealing that it was not easy to keep his dual identities separate.
Falz explained that there was an unspoken rule within the legal profession that prohibited lawyers from engaging in other activities while practicing law.
Falz shared a humorous anecdote about a time when he was in court, and the judge recognized him as the rapper.
He said:
“There was a time I was in court, and living a double life at the time as well. Lawyer by day, rapper by night.
“So when I announced my appearance ‘With profound respect my lord, the name is Folarin Falana, appearing for the plaintiff’ and the judge lowered his glasses and said ‘counsel, are you not the one doing something else on the side?’
“There is an unspoken rule of professional conduct within the legal practice where you are not supposed to do other thin gs.”
