This decision, confirmed during the Extraordinary FIFA Congress on Wednesday, follows the selection of Morocco, Spain, and Portugal as co-hosts for the 2030 edition, with Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay set to stage special celebratory matches.

Saudi Arabia will become the second Middle Eastern country to host the tournament, following Qatar’s successful staging in 2022. The 2034 event will also mark the first-ever 48-team World Cup held entirely in a single nation.

The matches will be spread across 15 state-of-the-art stadiums in five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and Neom. The King Salman Stadium in Riyadh, which will boast a 92,000-spectator capacity upon completion, is expected to host both the opening and final matches.
