JUST IN: Akwa Ibom State Governor Fires All Commissioners, Special Advisers
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dissolved his entire cabinet, citing the need to bring in fresh faces and professionals to drive the state’s development agenda.
The governor made the announcement during a valedictory session at the Exco Chamber in Uyo on Friday.
Governor Eno praised the outgoing commissioners for their hard work and dedication, stating that none of them underperformed during their tenure.
“All of you have delivered, and that’s why the Arise Agenda has succeeded,” he said. “But we must come to the end of a season, start another season, and keep moving.”
Most of the commissioners had been in office for almost 10 years, with some serving under former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
It is understood that the commissioners and advisers were retained by Governor Eno to allow them to complete their tenure as compensation for their services.
