The statement signed by the Secretary to the Elder’s Council of NSCEA, Bishop Prof, Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies further says that, “Nigerian Christians are proud of you. We pray the protection of the Almighty God over you always.”

We also congratulate the incoming president of the United States of America, Joe Biden and the incoming Vice President Kamala Harris as well as the entire people of the United States for a successful democratic transition.

We urge president Biden to continue his leadership in the spirit of President Donald Trump and better still, to let his light so shine as the second Catholic president of America with historic Baptist first female vice president of America.

Moreover, as the United States leads in coronavirus case count and number of deaths, we believe that former president Trump has handled the pandemic as best as he could, and anyone in his position may not have done better with this world pandemic as it hit the entire planet, and he needs not be blamed.

To us at NSCEA, Donald Trump’s presidency was quite decisive, even when he banned Muslims from coming into the country of America, he was referring to those who were already established by the Obama administration as being terrorist-harbouring countries and not all Muslim countries.

His party, the Republican party is anti-abortion, and anti-gay marriage government, which is of great value to America and their heritage; for gay marriage does not exist for conservative and fundamental people of faith groups, regardless of their affiliation, be they Christians, Jews or Muslims, as this is consistent with all religious beliefs.

Besides, there is no need to destroy American values that exhumes godliness in the name of liberalism. President Biden should therefore exercise restraints and apply wisdom to his issuance of executive orders to reverse President Trump’s policies.

As we read, “US President-elect Joe Biden will issue a slew of executive orders in his first hours in office, in both substantive and symbolic measures to reverse policies instituted during the Trump administration, U.S. media outlets reported.” – “Wisdom is the principal thing” and “Wisdom is profitable to direct”, the Scripture says.

Again, for instance, “Biden’s first order of business is expected to be granting transgender students permission to use bathrooms, showers, and play sports with students of the opposite biological sex in federally funded schools.” as stated by CitizenGO.

“This is a stark contrast from the policy during the Trump administration, which prioritized children’s safety in schools. God forbids and we oppose Biden’s plan to force children to share showers with the opposite sex.”

We’ll remind Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Mitch McConnell, and Kevin McCarthy that the American people oppose a policy that forces school children to undress and shower with children of the opposite sex.

Socialists’ policies, “to include standing against taxpayer-funded abortion, the refueling of Planned Parenthood bank reserves with public money, exporting the killing of unborn babies in exchange for U.S. foreign aid dollars, forcing Christians to pay for abortifacients and birth control against their convictions…etc.” All policies Donald J. Trump bravely ended, need not be revamped for God’s sake.

However, President Donald Trump may not have been a seasoned politician, but running a country is a business and so he did successfully. Like he rightly pointed out, “We have done what we came to do.” He has laid a solid foundation that only time and posterity would tell.

As Joe Biden becomes the 46th President of the United states of America, from the results of the election that took place in 2020, we wish him God’s guidance, wisdom and success, says Bishop Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, Secretary, Elders Council, NSCEA.

May Biden keep his words in his concluding remarks in his speech today: “My fellow Americans I close the day where I began, with a sacred oath. Before God and all of you, I give you my word. I will always level with you. I will defend the Constitution, I’ll defend our democracy.”

“I’ll defend America and I will give all – all of you – keep everything I do in your service. Thinking not of power but of possibilities. Not of personal interest but of public good.

“And together we will write an American story of hope, not fear. Of unity not division, of light not darkness. A story of decency and dignity, love and healing, greatness and goodness. May this be the story that guides us.

“The story that inspires us. And the story that tells ages yet to come that we answered the call of history, we met the moment. Democracy and hope, truth and justice, did not die on our watch but thrive.

“So with purpose and resolve, we turn to those tasks of our time. Sustained by faith, driven by conviction and devoted to one another and the country we love with all our hearts.” – President Joseph Biden

Lastly, we will admonish Mr. President to always remember and bear in mind, when being counseled, the book of Acts 4:19, “But Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God.”
