NDDC

Members of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, have called for the appointment of substantive heads in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and the Presidential Amnesty Programme to drive the development agenda for the people of the region.

The group made this known as it staged a peaceful demonstration along the East-West Road on Monday, stressing that it has lost confidence in ongoing forensic auditing of the NDDC.

The group took over the East-West road quite early to express their displeasure and drive home their positions on appointments into the NDDC as well as the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

The group said there will more protests in the coming days if the Federal Government fails to yield to their demands.
