Second Republic Member of the Senate, Banji Akintoye on Tuesday declared that the Interim Executive Council of Ilana Omo Oduduwa, a Pan Yoruba Umbrella of all Self-Determination Groups within and beyond the shores of Nigeria as approved by the organisation’s congress over the weekend.

Akintoye, elected as Alana of Ilana Omo Oduduwa, formerly known as the Yoruba World Congress (YWC), is the Worldwide Leader of the group with its International Secretariat in Lagos, the commercial headquarters of Nigeria and a National Secretariat in Ibadan, the Administrative Headquarters of Yoruba Nation.

In a statement made available to News Men on Tuesday, Akintoye announced the Pioneer Commissioner for Education in Osun State and former Director of Institute of African Studies at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Professor Wale Adeniran as the Interim National Chairman while a renowned Architect, Opeoluwa George Akinola was named Interim General Secretary with an Ondo State based University Don, Kayode Akinwande as his Assistant.

An Ijebu born NADECO veteran, Otunba Folashade Olukoya was named as Interim National Treasurer while a former OPC Chief, Basorun Kunle Adesokan was announced as Secretary, Homeland Affairs.

A Traditional Medicine Expert, Bunmi Abidogun was announced as Interim Traditional Asset Secretary while a former Director-General of the National Troops of Nigeria, Dr. Akinsola Adejuwon was announced as Secretary, Youth Empowerment Initiatives and Development.

An Ekiti born Public Relations and Development Communications Specialist, Maxwell Adeleye was named Secretary, Media and Communications while a United Kingdom based Activist, Ms Sola Salako was appointed Diaspora Coordinator.

Akintoye said the national election of the organisation earlier scheduled to hold during this festive period in Ibadan was postponed due to the second wave of Covid-19 Pandemic currently rocking the nation.null

He said some technical hitches currently being witnessed on the organisation’s website would be corrected to pave way for more membership registration ahead of the organisation’s Congress scheduled to hold once the war against Covid-19 Pandemic is won in the country.

Akintoye assured Yoruba People all over the world that they shall soon get their freedom, declaring the 1999 constitution of Nigeria and the amalgamation of 1914 of the Southern and Northern Nigeria as a hijack of the assets and sovereignty of the people of the Middle belt and Southern parts of the country.
