Springfield Private School & Bosede Idehen International Academy Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Orphanage Outreach

In a heartwarming display of love and generosity, Springfield Private School and Bosede Idehen International Academy (SPS/BIIA) marked Valentine’s Day by reaching out to an orphanage, reinforcing their commitment to nurturing compassion alongside academic excellence.

This philanthropic tradition is not new to SPS/BIIA, as the institution has consistently made efforts to support orphanages over the years. Speaking to the press, the Director of SPS/BIIA, Mrs. Maureen Idehen-Ovabor, emphasized the importance of instilling the value of love and generosity in students.

“While we focus on academic excellence, it is equally important to teach our students the essence of love and empathy. I always tell them that there are people with fewer opportunities, and it is our duty to extend kindness to them,” she stated.

Mrs. Idehen-Ovabor highlighted that while she could have simply sent gifts to the orphanage, she wanted her pupils and students to personally experience the joy of giving. “This initiative allows them to see firsthand the impact of their generosity. Many of them personally bought gifts, and the happiness they felt while sharing was truly remarkable. When children learn the habit of giving early, it becomes a lifelong value.”

She further noted that SPS/BIIA aims to nurture not only intellectual growth but also character development. “We are shaping future leaders—leaders who will not only excel academically but also have empathy for those around them. Our impact extends beyond the classroom; we are grooming a generation that values humanity.”

As the school continues its outreach efforts, Mrs. Idehen-Ovabor reaffirmed SPS/BIIA’s dedication to fostering a culture of kindness and social responsibility. “This is more than just a Valentine’s Day celebration; it is a lesson in love, gratitude, and giving. We are honored to make a difference in the lives of children who may not have the same privileges as others.”

The event was met with enthusiasm from students, who expressed their joy in being part of such a meaningful initiative. With this outreach, SPS/BIIA once again proves that education is not just about knowledge but also about shaping compassionate and responsible individuals.
