The ongoing National Identification Number NIN and SIM Registration Exercise has been extended by eight weeks.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Pantami who conveyed the directive at a meeting with stakeholders to review the exercise said the extension became necessary to give Nigerians and legal residents more time to integrate their NINs and SIMs

The meeting with the stakeholders also revealed that a total of fifty six point eighteen million registered National Identity Numbers have been collected by the mobile network operators at one thousand and six registration centres for the process across the country.

The Federal Government called on Nigerians to take advantage of the window created by the extension to complete the registration process.
