Again,Buhari Govt Says Security Situation In Nigeria Is Better Than In 2015

Buhari government has once again maintained that security situation in Nigeria is better than what it was in 2015.

CityNews Nigeria reports that the Presidency has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the improved security situation in the North and in the country as a whole.

Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina, gave the commendation when he featured as a guest on Channels Television on Sunday.

According to Adesina, the security situation in the country has improved and is better than what the Buhari administration met in 2015.

The media aide said that even Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State would attest to the fact that the situation in that state is far better than what it was in 2015.

He added that Borno which the epicenter of the insurgency in the country has been calm for a while. Adesina said before President Buhari was elected, Boko Haram insurgents terrorized the North and caused havoc in the region.

Adesina berated those saying that President Buhari has failed in terms of security, noting that critics cannot use a few events to rate the government low in terms of securing the people.

He opined that the Buhari administration has done fair enough beyond what was expected, saying that COVID-19 was responsible for the non-fulfillment of the promises made by the government at the start of the year.

The media aide, however, stressed that despite the low earnings and the fact that the nation’s economy did not function at full capacity, a good number of the promises were still accomplished.
