Akwa Ibom NUJ boycotts Fani Kayode’s event in state, orders members to stay away
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, has ordered its members to boycott Femi Fani Kayode’s tour of the State.
This was contained in a statement tagged “Boycott of FFK’s events in Akwa Ibom State’ which was jointly signed by the chairman, Comrade Amos Etuk and the Secretary, Comrade Dominic Akpan on Friday in Uyo, the State capital.
The State NUJ which distanced itself from Mr Kayode’s visit to the State said its action was in line with the directive by the National leadership of NUJ that no journalist should attend or cover media parley with FFK.
The Statement reads in parts, “In line with the disposition of the national leadership of our great union, the State Council has directed that no journalist should attend a media parley with Femi Fani-Kayode or any of his activity at any location in Akwa Ibom State.”
