The Lagos federal high court has ordered the interim forfeiture of $2.045 million, seven landed properties, and shares linked to Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Akintayo Aluko, the presiding judge, made the order on Thursday after an application filed by Rotimi Oyedepo, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), representing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a suit marked FHC/L/MISC/500/24. Operatives of the Delta State Police have killed a suspected kidnapper during a gun duel in a Delta community. The operation, which also led to the arrest of three other suspects, resulted in the recovery of an arsenal of deadly weapons. Mojisola Adeyeye, Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has revealed that a sum of N500 million was unaccounted for in the agency during the four months that preceded her appointment in November 2017. A Libyan driver was arrested on Tuesday in the Bishr area of Libya for attempting to smuggle six undocumented female migrants from Nigeria. The arrest was made during a routine police patrol, which intercepted the vehicle and detained the driver.
