The presidency says Wale Edun, the immediate former minister of finance, and Musa Dangiwa, former minister of housing, resigned from their positions as members of the federal executive council (FEC). In a statement on Wednesday, Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson, said Edun resigned due to recent ill health, while Dangiwa also resigned and thanked President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity given him to serve in the cabinet. A fellow of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Prof Udenta Udenta, says former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai should not be kept in perpetuity in detention because of investigation. The Federal Government has filed a 13-count charge against six individuals, including former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva, over alleged involvement in a coup plot against Nigeria. The charges, which border on treason, terrorism and money laundering, were filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/206/2026, was filed on Tuesday by the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo. According to the charge, Sylva is currently at large. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has cautioned Nigerians against falling prey to fraudulent messages and emails purportedly from the bank. Nigeria travel guide The CBN in a statement issued by Hakama Ali, its acting Director, Corporate Communications said said these messages are intended to misinform members of the public.
