Leading presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is set to visit the United States of America (USA). CityNews reports that this was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe. He said Atiku has declared that his forthcoming engagement with policy and institutional stakeholders in the United States will be driven by one overriding concern: the alarming deterioration of security, governance, and economic stability in Nigeria. According to him, Nigeria is facing a full-blown internal crisis, one that can no longer be downplayed, politicized, or explained away. From the ravaging violence…
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has confirmed that high-level negotiations are currently underway with Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former Governor of Kano State, regarding a potential move to the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. These secret talks suggest a major political realignment is brewing as opposition figures seek a unified platform to challenge the status quo in the next election cycle. The NDC leadership expressed a strong interest in hosting both politicians, hinting that the party is prepared to offer its presidential ticket to the duo to…
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said Nigeria’s next president, ahead of the 2027 general elections, has already been determined by God. CityNews reports that Adeboye spoke on Saturday during a workers’ meeting at the Redemption City on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The cleric said the outcome of the election was beyond human influence, stressing that the will of God would ultimately prevail. Adeboye said, “The next president has already been decided by God who owns the universe. It is not something we can determine by human effort alone. The will of God will be…
If the story of Tunde Ayeni; businessman, former Skye Bank chairman, Ntel investor, political financier, and now, once again, a guest of Nigeria’s foremost anti-corruption agency EFCC, teaches us anything, it is this: the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has a very, very long memory. On April 24, 2026, operatives of the EFCC arrested Tunde Ayeni in Abuja. The charges being investigated are staggering; alleged misappropriation and diversion of funds to the tune of N36.54 billion and $30 million, obtained from Polaris Bank through a web of at least 12 companies linked to him. The loans, according to EFCC sources,…
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has declared that Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will remain an ordained pastor in the church despite calls for her removal. Speaking during the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service, Adeboye said Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an Assistant Pastor in RCCG more than a decade ago, long before her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, indicated interest in contesting for the presidency. He explained that her ordination followed the full process required by the church and stressed that she has not violated any of its…
The United States is moving to withhold 50 per cent of its aid to Nigeria under a new legislative proposal that ties continued support to measurable progress on security, civilian protection, and accountability. The U.S. House Appropriations Committee approved the measure as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programmes appropriations bill, reflecting growing concern in Washington over persistent violence in Africa’s most populous nation. The broader bill allocates about $47.32 billion for foreign aid and diplomacy, a reduction of roughly six per cent from the previous year. If enacted, the proposal would require…
The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about his administration’s frequent borrowing to fund projects in the country. In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele stated that frequent borrowing indicates the country has not effectively utilized its resources to improve the nation. He said that continuous loans will cause the country’s economy to decline if proper attention isn’t given. The prophet said the country has resources in many states like Taraba, Zamfara, Kogi and others, and he mentioned that these resources can help the country…

Some top leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are planning to defect to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is said to be among those at the centre of the planned realignment. Sources close to the former Anambra State governor, who spoke with Punch, said the move followed growing dissatisfaction with the ADC’s internal structure and uncertainties arising from the recent Supreme Court judgment on the party’s leadership dispute. The Supreme Court had, on Thursday, vacated an earlier injunction that removed David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as National Chairman…
