The Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Terver Akase, on Sunday said that the state will not receive armed herdsmen fleeing from South-West.

Akase stated that the state Governor, Samuel Ortom, had on several occasions said any cattle owner who wanted to reside in the state must ranch his animals.

Citynewsng.com gathered that a report had earlier quoted Akase as saying that herdsmen in the state must be ready to obey the state anti open grazing law.

He had said, “As long as they (Fulani herdsmen)  are ready to ranch their cattle and obey the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law of the state,  Benue State  will have no problem with them.”
