Breaking: Gunmen Kill Four Policemen In Calabar

Four policemen have been gunned down by gunmen at a checkpoint in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

CityNews Nigeria learnt that the  incident reportedly happened in the wee hours of Thursday at Ayanmbat community near Idundu in the Aka Efa area of the state.

An eyewitness said the gunmen swooped on the unsuspecting policemen and gunned them down in cold blood while resting at the location.

When reporters visited the scene in the morning, six bodies, including those of civilians, were seen and bloodstains were all over the place.

Confirming the sad incident, the state Police Commissioner, Sikiru Akande, said he was on his way to the scene of the killings.
